Two Accused Of Torturing Baby During Weekend Visit With FatherTULSA, OK – Anthonie Cotton and Terraisia Barnes are accused of severely abusing the father’s 6-month-old baby. The pair was booked into the Tulsa County jail early Tuesday, after the infant’s injuries were discovered by the child’s guardian. A 6-month-old-baby. With a guardian. You know where this one’s going already.

According to police, the baby had spent the weekend with his father, 21-year-old Anthonie Cotton, and Terraisia Barnes, his 18-year-old girlfriend. When the baby was returned to his guardian, however, it was discovered that the child had severe burns on his legs, waist, backside and genitals. There were also bruises on his back and legs.

Police say that Cotton’s girlfriend took pictures of the injuries and sent them to her mother, who told her to take the child to the doctor immediately. Instead, Barnes dressed the boy to cover the injuries and dropped him off at his guardian’s house several hours later. The child was rushed to Shriner’s Hospital after having seizures, according to the booking report. The child’s injuries were described as ‘extensive’ and required emergency treatment.

Investigators are in possession of the photos Barnes allegedly sent to her mother. Cotton refused to go to the hospital, or to provide an explanation of his son’s injuries. He and his girlfriend had the bracelets slapped on shortly thereafter.

Baby-daddy is being held on a felony complaint of child abuse after a prior felony conviction. Court records show he was previously convicted on possession of a firearm after even more prior convictions, including second degree burglary. Barnes is being held on suspicion of child abuse or neglect. Bond for both was set at $50,000. No update on the child’s condition was available as of Wednesday.
