BRUSSELS – Police in Belgium believe a woman killed her two-year-old daughter by burning her alive on a charcoal grill.
On Sunday evening in the town of Zemst, neighbors called police after hearing a little girl screaming from inside a garage as smoke came from under the garage door.
When police arrived at the home, they found a 27-year-old woman cooking the body of her 2-year-old daughter on a charcoal grill. There was no saving the girl, as most of her body had already been fully charred.
“We both had to burn,” the woman told the arriving officers. “That was the only way we could go to heaven together.”
She also stated that the only way for a person’s soul to go to heaven was for their body to be cremated.
The mother was taken to the hospital due to severe carbon monoxide poisoning. She was later arrested in the hospital on suspicion of murder.
An autopsy on the girl has already been performed, so authorities know if the poor girl was burned alive, but the results of the report have not been made public at this time.
The woman’s neighbors say she has been depressed for some time after going through a divorce and was living with her mother, who was not at home at the time.
Have you ever wondered why people suffering from delusions of saving their children by killing them always use such violent methods? We have countless stories of people “saving” their children using a myriad of violent methods, including stabbing, drowning in bathtubs, burning them alive, etc. It’s never anything instant and\or painless.
