AVONDALE, AZ – The body of a woman who went missing for two days has been found, and her ex-boyfriend has admitted to setting her body on fire.

On Tuesday, 21-year-old Jasmine Dunbar was reported missing after her 7-month-old daughter was found on the side of the road strapped in a car seat.

The mother and daughter had been last seen with her ex, 20-year-old Antwaun Ware.

On Thursday morning, police found Dunbar’s dead body in a field six miles from her home. She had suffered extensive burns, according to police.

When police located and questioned Ware, he admitted that after he picked up Dunbar and her baby Tuesday evening, they got into a physical altercation related to a paternity test he was supposed to take.

After punching her in the face several times with his fist, he dumped Dunbar in a field still alive. He then dumped Dunbar’s baby in another neighborhood figuring some people walking nearby would take care of her.

He then returned to Dunbar and doused her with gasoline before setting her on fire. Ware said he stayed and watched until the flames burned themselves out before returning to pick up the baby. He went home instead after seeing police in the area.

Ware was arrested on one count of first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping, one count of abandonment of a body and one count of child abuse. He’s currently sitting in the Maricopa County Jail.

“She asked you to take a DNA test, how’s that worth killing somebody over,” said Smith. “I’m angry. I feel like, ‘why God?’,” said Dunbar’s mother.
